I must wear orthopedics, due to numerous issues. I was originally fitted at the local brace store. I wear a 9;5 WW. I had them customize several pair. 2 pair my insurance covered part. The last pair I had to cover the entire $512.00 cost straight out of my household budget thankfully they let me make 4 monthly payments. At that time I did hot have a home computer or smart phone, so I HAD NO CHOICE. But with the advent of technology I found drew.com and have bought at least 15 pair, with Desiree being my absolute favorite. They are phasing out their older lines and getting more modern styles. I've been on the lookout for a good style for me.I love my Desiree's so well that after they become unwearable in public that I cut out the mesh sections, making them look more like sandals and went to the local farm supply store and got black leather dye and black soul coloring. redid my orange and whites and my blue and whites to all black. I had people stop me all the time and ask where I got my cute sandals. The shoes were each over 1 1/2 years nearly daily use. I work and have a farm and am a BI"G woman, I am tuff on shoes.I found this pair of Gingers on Amazon, last pair in dusty pewter, price was reduced from $170.00 to $28.88.I got them today. They fit more like a 9.5 EEE. So I will be leaving the already doubled foot beds putting my full sized orthotics on top and probably wearing thick socks. I cant get this fab price on a smaller size so I am going to make them work and KEEP LOVING MY NEW DREW'S They are quite cute on. And for the narrow footed lady that said they are tight, maybe your feet are swollen. I am tickled pink with mine, even though large. since they are leather I may dampen them a bit and put them near the heater and see if that tightens them a bit.Not as roomy as one expects from Drew and they'll be even less roomy when I put orthotics in them, which I'll have to since there isn't much of an arch support built into the shoe. Drew needs to either put in better arch supports or make them deeper to accommodate the wearer's orthotics. As mentioned by someone before me, the Velcro closures are somewhat lightweight and tend to open easily. Would be happy if company updated to more secure fasteners to secure shoes on foot.I bought these because it said they would hold a double thick insert. I wear a regular custom orthopedic with a layer of EVA shock absorbing foam. My inserts did not even come close to fitting in these shoes.I love these shoes. Very soft leather. Wish they do other colors.
